CityWide Disaster Services, Inc.

Chartered by New York State in 1975, CityWide Disaster Services, Inc. (CDS) is a not-for-profit, 501 (c) 3 corporation organized to provide emergency communications and associated educational programs to support public safety. Today, two of our major programs are aimed at enhancing public safety and security in the New York City community. These programs supplement and enhance existing governmental programs, with CDS personnel bridging the gap. These programs are not new to the Big Apple. They have been in existence since the 1970's. Formally known as Operation Interlock, Interwatch, and Queenswatch, now known as CITYLINK. CDS has improved the system, including new digital transmitters, a new computer aided dispatch system, emergency power back-up and a new Brooklyn system to the network.

The CITYLINK anti-crime / anti-terrorism radio network provides participants with a means to request emergency assistance in the New York City Metro area.

The CITYWIDE 1 NEW YORK (CW1NY) radio network is the sole source a participant needs to obtain current information regarding public safety incidents in the Metro New York area. This real time information provides decision makers with the flexibility to make neccessary safety decisions concerning life and property.

Our third program provides partcipants with educational awareness and training to prepare for emergencies. Seminars are conducted by trained public safety personnel. In additon, CDS can provide on-scene emergency communications and incident management by FEMA certified incident command personnel.
